About Me and My Work

Formally an art teacher out of Wythe County, now retired after 30 years, I’ve come to appreciate a multitude of art forms. My love for art started with colored pencil and evolved over time to collect many avenues, eventually settling on woodturning and chair caning in my retirement. While I can turn wood out of bought wood, I love creating things out of wood that is found or has sentiment. From old tennis racket handles to fallen trees to logs from an old cabin, I pull inspiration from where I can.

You can also find my work at The Eclectic Pearl and Southwest Virginia Cultural Center and Marketplace.
