This pencil was made from an old wooden tennis racket handle that I thrifted from a local thrift store.

Bradford Pear Wood Turned Bowl

This bowl is 5 inches in diameter at the top. The wood is Bradford Pear that has begun to spalt. The tree once existed on our property until a storm took it down about 3 years ago. The Bradford Pear has now been declared invasive in the state of Virginia but it makes beautiful wood products and cure to a very hard durable wood.

Vase made with Cedar

Vase that is wood turned using cedar from Crockett, Va. The small tree had to be cut because it was growing against my sons house. The cedar is treated with Howard’s Sunshine to prevent color changes due to sunlight exposure. It is not advised to put this in direct sunlight.

“The Seven Step method is the predominant pattern used in hand caning, and most professional and amateur craftspeople would agree that it is one of the best.” If your chair has holes around the seat it is probably a Seven Step Chair. Repairs are typically priced by the number of holes. I charge $2.50 per hole. It could cost more if there are additional repairs.
